Seminar Topics

iBEV Maintenance

iBEV makes it easy to do file maintenance.  See iBEV in action for maintaining products, accounts (including routing), and heading codes.  See how iBEV makes maintaining pricing and discounting a snap.  We’ll also demo how to use iBEV to monitor and process your Palm, Pocket PC, and Mobility uploads.

What’s New in iBEV Tracker

Learn about the new features added to iBEV Tracker for setting up and monitoring objectives and taking surveys.  The most notable feature is the addition of reporting capabilities for tracking objectives and surveys.

Technical Guide to iBEV

We’ll provide a technical seminar geared towards those who want to learn about the iBEV infrastructure. We’ll cover iSeries technology (including the HTTP server), firewalls, printing, messaging, and security.  We’ll also cover how the iBEV web pages work with the iSeries databases and our “Work With” programming techniques.

Warehouse Management I & II

We’ll have seminars on improving inventory practices.  One seminar will be devoted to key inventory enhancements.  See a better method of handling unavailable product returned from the trade.  Learn how to manage close-to-code product with new tools.  See the enhanced method of pick-up requests and return of partial cases.  Another seminar will focus on using the RF unit in the warehouse, truck loading enhancements, and tracking picking statistics for activity based costing.

Merchandiser PDA

Get a handle on merchandiser time and productivity.  PDA software specifically  designed for the merchandiser allows you to route and schedule merchandisers, capture service times at accounts, make cooler merchandizing more efficient by using scanner and cooler capacity to determine product to pull from back room, route salesman’s display requests to merchandiser PDAs for execution, and compile productivity statistics in hours and cost.

Reporting Activity Based Costs

Bring it all together here!  Now that all activities are tracked, you can gather the statistics you need to get a handle on costs associated with an account. Learn how to use picking, sales, delivery, and merchandiser statistics to get a new picture of your costs.  You’re on your way to making better decisions about your use of labor.

What’s New in PDAs

The VIP PDA software continues to improve based on your requests. Learn what’s new in PDAs including sign requests, display requests, automatic processing of PDA uploads, directed picking by bay for  drivers, and much more.

What’s New in G3

G3 is now available.  See the new features in G3:  recalculating discounts based on invoices changes made at recon; autobuild of forecasts; improved method for reconciling loads; rewrite of sales quotas; automatic upload of PDA transmissions; and more.

Financial News, Tips & Tools

Besides learning what’s new in financials, we’ll cover a variety of tips and tools that will improve productivity in general ledger and accounts payable.

What’s New in iDIG

Come to this seminar to see what’s new.  We’ve added the ability to see invoiced orders, analyze margins and other profit-based reports, include distribution as part of your key sale indicators (KSIs), update cubes with just the day’s sales rather than rebuilding the entire cube daily, and more.  We’ll also cover iDig Remote—which puts the job of building and serving data cubes on VIP’s servers for remote access by your staff.

What’s New in Electronic Commerce

Learn about the VIP EDI Hub—your one-stop electronic commerce solution.  Find out what retailers (trading partners) are now supported by the Hub, which retailers are in progress with new EC initiatives, and what we can expect in the future.

Introducing Athena

Did you ever wish that you could have VIP look directly at a unit at your office?  Now you can with Athena.  Athena allows remote access of a Pocket PC for support, training, hardware diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

Odds & Ends

This perennial favorite explores tips and tricks that improve your every day use of the VIP system.

Get Started! Workshops
on Wednesday, October 18

We want you to Get Started! using our software so we’re devoting one full day to help you implement VIP features such as truck loading, forecasting with auto build, iBEV surveys, RF in the warehouse, and more. You can attend up to four “Get Started!” workshops during the day.  As part of the workshop, you’ll get a planning and implementation checklist.  Workshop leaders will go through options and help you decide how to set up the feature. You’ll also have ample time to talk to the experts for your particular projects.  When you get back to the office, you’ll have all the info and materials to Get Started!  Complete the workshop questionnaire when signing up; topics will be selected based on interest.
